DISCUSSION WITH THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS AUTHORITY ON REGULATIONS

On 26th February 2024, the Industrial Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) organized a pivotal discussion on regulations with the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA). This event, held at the Chamber Board Room, was led by Mr. H M C B Herath, the Director General of the Consumer Affairs Authority. The session was a key opportunity for IASL members to engage directly with the regulatory body and gain critical insights into current and forthcoming regulations.

Mr. Herath, along with Mr. Sajith Wijesinghe, Legal Officer at the CAA, and Ms. Samantha Karunaratne, Director of Competition Promotion at the CAA, shared valuable information on various regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements. They discussed the impact of these regulations on the industrial sector and provided guidance on navigating legal and regulatory challenges.

The discussion underscored the importance of understanding and adhering to consumer protection laws and competition policies. By facilitating this dialogue, the IASL reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that its members are well-informed and compliant with regulatory standards, thereby promoting fair practices and enhancing the overall competitiveness of the industrial sector in Sri Lanka.
